Ok so I travel on the bus everyday.
I have noticed a few things.

The kids fall into several groups:
Red blazer (scummy little bastids mostly)
Blue blazer (boffins, not that I have anything against boffins, I used to be kinda boffiny)
Not-with-the-other-blazer-people-even-tho-I-have-to-wear-one

Adults:
Work is a fashion show
Practical clothes for manual labour
I may work in an office but that doesn't mean I have to dress smartly
I don't usually use the bus and I hate it
Scummy bastid with earphones on megablast

So the kids are basically kids, they form cliques on the bus and is sometimes v funny to see which kid is outside the group today, tho only sometimes. The red blazers sit at the back and talk louder than your ipod can actually block out. The blue blazers stand/sit right at the front and get in the way of everyone trying to enter/exit the bus.
The not-with's try not to sit next to anyone and generally look horrified if you sit next to them.

Most of the adults don't seem to know how to stand properly on the bus: slight bend of knees is essential, helps if you stand with feet apart one further back than the other. So there's the occasional twat falling into you :-/

I seem to exude a 'don't sit next to me' vibe, something to do with ipod prob :> however sometimes I do have to put up with a companion. When this happens I make absolutely not attempt to make more room, I just continue sitting as if they aren't ther. Unless they're frail or pregnant that is, then I'm polite as hell, and have been know to turn my ipod down!

When I was in school I fell into the not-with cat. Even when I walked to school lol!
