oooooo! oh. Was a test fire alarm, with a bloke in high res jacket and everything, thought I was gonna get to go home early!
He's got a cool smoke wand, and uses it to cover the smoke detectors, and test them. He forgot to switch our office's alarm to test though, and the alarm is right behind my head!
lol, he's still here after half an hour, it's not a huge office, what's taking so long?!

Are you like me? You always assume a fire alarm is a test or a false alarm?
Once got tipped out of a hotel in Glasgow in the middle of the night, about half an hour after the bar shut downstairs. Assembled guests made interesting reading!

Pro Lol, never been near a fire! has plenty of 'practice' alarms tho, and am desensitised to fire fear, so is just the loud noise I object to! Hmm, there was actually a fire at my old doctors some time back, in the middle of the day, so I should prob stop automatically thinking it's a test...

Years ago, someone told me that a manager complained that the fire alarm was not loud enough to be heard in his office. So when he was on leave they attached a sounder to the underside of his desk. When they did the next test, they watched him at his desk through the glass panel in his office door.
When the alarm went off, he shot three feet into the air from a sitting position with his legs thrashing away like the Coyote in the Road runner cartoons.
