Yay! Varant is indeed way easier than Nordmar! Course I've improved my fighting skills a bit since then, and had a bit of a blitz on my strength, and finally getting around to turning all my reignweeds into life potions, so have upped my life expectancy somewhat!
Mkay, I found the teleporter stone for Braga on one of the merchants, you get the quest to collect their tribute, and have to beat the crap out of one of them, that's the one with the teleporter stone.
Incidentaly I have found 2 teleporter stones for Silden, one in a ring of stones just outside town, and one on the Orc Shaman's lifeless corpse! Once you have gained 75 points in Silden you get the quest to kill the rebels, talk to the shaman and he'll guide you out of town in their direction, conviniently away from any guards.... Splat!
Have yet to find a teleporter stone for Nemora, frown, is a pain in the arse to traipse there, but easy enough from Trelis I suppose.
Oh, the quest to kill the orcs at the temple excavations near Trelis leads to the old sword for the Orc blacksmith in Trelis, it's on T's body, and is, rather confusingly, named Krush M thingy, so you don't immediately notice that you've got the relevant weapon. I don't think you can sell it though so shouldn't be too much trouble.
So, Varant, yeah....
Um, the Jackals are roughly the same as wolves, but you don't appear to be able to skin them. There are also Dark Snappers, you can take their skins to Braga for some armour: collect the tribute mission again.
Have had a bit of a wonder towards Ishvah with Diago, who after the Dark Snapper quest will give you the option to bring him with you. Didn't stray from the path, until got quite near Ishvah, found 4 ogres and an underground bit, also some odd creatures nearby that I haven't investigated yet.
Nemora: the snorting monsters are very like the monsters you find to the West of Cape Dunn, near the stone circle with gargoyles. So they're tough, but not too tough. All the quests in Nemora seem to give you loads of points there, but the Snorting monsters give you 20 points! Get the 5 rare herbs while you're there and trot back down to collect you're rewards. After delivering the herbs to the Fire Mage, he'll give you the Fire Chalice, and will now let you buy stuff off him.
So far I've only found 2 food recipes! Meatbug Ragout and Stew! Stew was fairly recently as well, I can't have been looking very hard! Not to mention that I haven't the faintest idea where to get milk, lol, so haven't even been able to cook anything until now!
Fire Chalices to date:
1: Cape Dunn, buy from Orc dude, used to be the Paladin's, is The Paladins Possessions quest.
2: Near Montera, from Rakus the Mage, jsut clear out the undead.
3: Montera, Bengard. Can't remember...
4: Trelis, Konrad, just talk to him.
5: Geldern, Goldmine in town, in dark tunnel.
6: Vangard, Maskus, wants you to take it to the king!
7: Nemora, Treslott, the Fire Mage, herbs.
8: Varant Pass, Kurt the rogue paladin. When you kill this bandit it appears as a successful quest, haven't found out which rebel wants him dead, at least I can't remember anyone asking. Does sound familiar though...
9: Silden, in the slave camp bosses chest, haven't got this yet, but know it's there.
While killing all the orcs at Trelis temple I had another look in the temple and came accross Ben's Shovel. WTF?! Someone is going to ask for his shovel? is it magicial? sentimental value? Lucky? !!!!!
